MakeSouthWest is a network of community-led maker spaces, educational establishments and industry partners developing creative manufacturing in the South West, supported by the Royal Society of the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacture and Commerce.
Maker spaces are physical locations with digitally enabled small scale manufacturing and 3D prototyping equipment open to the community and run by knowledgeable managers. These can range from small workshops to large facilities. Makesouthwest core members include maker spaces across the region ranging from Makernow in Cornwall to West Knowle Media Centre near Bristol.
Makesouthwest aims to widen access to resources, and develop the best possible pool of talent to stimulate growth, innovation, and creativity in the region. We do this through encouraging knowledge and skills exchange between maker spaces, and collaborative projects with industry.
