Makernow is an open digital fabrication laboratory (FabLab). It has grown from over ten years of experience and achievement in digital making. It was conceived as a facility and activity hub that would support a wide range of people and regional businesses and organisations, while also being part of a global network of Labs. It is the first FabLab/Maker space in the Southwest .
It provides a creative and open environment to learn and make and have an experienced team with expertise from design and craft through to electronics and programming. Makernow currently has over 75 members who are inducted and trained in the use of some, or all, of the digital production facilities and 170 individuals on its mailing list.
